The Lyman Family has been part of the Middlefield community since 1741. Our goal is to have your guests experience the traditions of a good old fashioned country gathering that never gets old, even after 260 years.

With great venues and delicious menus, you can count on us for a great get-together! Co-workers club members, families and friends can all gather here for a carefree and memorable day of fresh air, good fun, and really great food! Our event planning professionals will handle all the details and work with you to create a special day. From picnics and a la carte offerings to tented affairs, we can serve gatherings from 20 to 200 guests.

Choose from our two menu selections below, or let us assist you in customizing a menu for your group. Available activities to complement your event include championship golf, corn maze, fruit picking, pie eating contests, frisbee golf, farm tours, and fun, old fashioned field games.

The Great Orchard Getaway!
Need the perfect place to get away?Escape to our orchard hillsides for an old fashioned picnic amid the breathtaking views of our farm and the surrounding valley.
We'll pack a picnic lunch featuring a selection of our fresh-made deli sandwiches, salads, baskets of fruit, and assorted picnic beverages. Complement your outing with a tour of our farm, fruit picking, Frisbee Golf, and an array of field games (bocce, volleyball, horseshoes). Get lost in our Corn Maze or add a round of golf at one of our two championship courses, for the golfers in your group. We recommended the Great Orchard Getaway option for groups of 25 persons and fewer.

The Lyman Classic Golf Outing
Gather your players for an exceptional golf experience at Lyman Orchards Golf Club, one of the most popular places to play in Connecticut! We'll provide you with an unforgettable day at the course! Golf packages include 18 holes of championship golf, canopied carts personalized with your guests' names, a fully staffed bag drop, driving range and practice area, pro shop merchandise credit, and a Lyman Orchard 6 inch Hi-Top Apple Pie! Customized golf clinics and putting contests are available for all skill levels.
Start off with a breakfast buffet, then enjoy a grilled hotdog or hamburger at the turn. Finish your day with a memorable awards banquet offering a variety of delicious choices.

Stay an extra day!Visitors coming from beyond our local area can arrange for overnight accommodations at one of the many hotels, motels, and bed and breakfast facilities nearby. Contact us for a list of those places that offer special discounted rates for Lyman visitors.
Farm Tours & Group Visits
Hundreds of student, senior, and community groups visit our farm each season for fruit picking, to enjoy our scenic views, and to learn about our farm's fascinating history.Options available for your group visit include a one hour Guided Tour of our 1,100 acre farm, and fruit picking in the orchards, with an optional souvenir and snack at the Apple Barrel.
Enhance your visit with a delicious Box Lunch prepared by our Deli.
Test your navigational skills in our fall Corn Maze for a fun learning experience for all ages.
Add a round of Frisbee Golf-- another recreational activity to be enjoyed by children and adults alike.
Children's cooking workshops may be available to groups on a limited basis throughout the year, by pre-arrangement only. Class size is limited to groups of 10 to 25 children. Due to the high volume of activity during our fall harvest season, we cannot offer workshops during September and October.
We are now accepting reservations for the summer and fall seaosn.Tour dates are reserved on a first-come basis, but we try our best to accommodate everyone. Reserve your dates early!
