Connecticut Children's Medical Center Sunflower Maze Design Contest Results!

The results are in! The winner in the contest for the Best Design for our 2010 Sunflower Maze is.....

The Turtle!

Here is the voting break-out for each design idea:

Turtle: 47%
Castle: 23%
United States Map: 22%
Bicycle: 8%

Thank you to all the CCMC kids for being so creative, and coming up with four really wonderful design ideas! We think they're all great, but the Turtle won the most online votes in our survey.

This has been perfect growing weather for the sunflowers. Unlike many other plants, they don't like getting their feet too wet, so the stalks are getting taller every day.

The pathways have been cut by Brett Herbst, the world's leading maze designer. Of the more than 200 mazes Brett creates each year, ours is his only Sunflower Maze!

Exploring a maze is always lots of fun, especially when you're winding your way along pathways shaded by more than 350,000 sunflowers in bloom!

Even more importantly, your visit will be made extra special because when you buy a ticket, you'll be helping to support the fight against pediatric cancer!

We donate $1 of every admission ticket to the pediatric cancer unit of Connecticut Children's Medical Center.

Kids can't fight cancer alone! Your visit to our Sunflower Maze will go a long way in helping Connecticut Children's continue to offer Connecticut families the best pediatric care in our state.

To date, we have donated more than $15,000 to Connecticut Children's since opening our first Sunflower Maze three years ago.

Bring your family, your friends, and your camera! The awesome views can be enjoyed from the maze viewing platform as well as from the surrounding orchard hillsides.

So come get lost for fun, and for a great cause!
