Sunflower Maze

350,000 Blooming Sunflowers are crafted into a train-themed maze that will honor Lyman Orchards’ 275th anniversary. $1 from every admission supports the Connecticut Children’s Medical Center Pediatric Care Unit.

MIDDLEFIELD, Conn. (July 26, 2016)Lyman Orchards invites you to hop on board this first-class journey through history by getting lost in Lyman Orchards’ Train-Themed Sunflower Maze. The 2016 maze, which is dedicated to the 275th anniversary of Lyman Orchards, is set to open on Wednesday, July 27. Navigating the maze takes you and your family on a pathway to outdoor fun and helps support the Connecticut Children’s Medical Center Pediatric Care Unit.

This year’s maze design is a continuation of the orchards’ year-long 275th anniversary celebration by honoring David Lyman II and the Airline Railroad. Take a trip back to 1860, when David Lyman II started construction on the railroad that forged a new pathway from New York to Boston. Filled with surprising twists and turns, this train-themed maze is an amazing ride for all.
