Lyman Orchards
Press Release

The game of Golf is strong, and we want our players's games to grow stronger, too.

Who: Golfers -- beginners, re-starters, kids, adults… Individuals and families who are interested in learning and/or honing their golf game.

What: Grow the Game at the Lyman Orchards’ Golf Center

When: Saturday, May 6th from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m

Where: Lyman Orchards’ Golf Center, 700 Main Street, Middlefield, Conn.

Why: The professional golf instructors at Lyman Orchards teach more than 700 beginning students every season. And the experience doesn’t end there: those students continue to master their skills and play in our professionally-run programs, which teach students of all ages and levels through experiential learning.

The event takes place at the Golf Center, a renowned practice facility that features a driving range with target greens and bunkers, a large putting green with undulating hills, and a large chipping area for players to work on their short game. All these elements are surrounded by a par -29 course that’s perfect for beginners (it’s less intimidating and more inviting than traditional 18 hole courses) and challenging for experienced golfers.

The event will feature free greens fees and free clinics throughout the day. And the driving range will also be free for participants from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. We will also feature a fiercely fun competition among Lyman’s professional instructors at 1:30 p.m. And the UCONN Men’s Golf team will run a clinic as well.
