Cheshire Town Players is teaming up with Lyman Orchards & 1741 Pub & Grill to bring you a special edition of their popular Theater Games, where anything can happen in just one hour!
Whether you're jumping in as a performer or grabbing a drink and enjoying the show from your seat, expect comedy, chaos, and totally unpredictable moments!
Thursday, February 26th at 1741 Pub & Grill. $5 per person donation to Cheshire Town Players (performers & audience).
Pro, newbie or wannabe performers (ages 18+ only) are randomly cast into a short, 10-minute play and given one hour to prepare a live reading. After a director-led warm-up, surprise casting, and script reveal, rehearsals begin as the director circulates to coach each group. Then the audience arrives, the pressure's on, and showtime!
Performers Timeline
5:30 PM: Arrive & receive your reading. Performers will pick a card from the shuffled piles on the table. Groups (casts) are formed based on the number on the cards. The plays are then revealed and described by the director. Scripts are distributed. Director may request cast adjustments at this point. You may request a trade, but only once!
6:00 PM: Within each group, roles are assigned, the play is read and discussed, then rehearsed until time is up. Props and furniture will be provided if available. The director will circulate to assist.
7:00 PM: Showtime!
Come watch the chaos! Performers rehearse for just one hour before performing live. No two shows are ever the same, expect big choices, bold risks, and plenty of laughs.
Audience Timeline:
6:45 PM: Arrival to 1741 Pub & Grill to grab a snack, drink & seat!
7:00 PM: Showtime!
All guests (performers & audience) are asked to make a minimum purchase of $10 at 1741 Pub & Grill during the show. Last call for food is at 8 PM.
