Please note that since we had an early Spring this year, we are expecting our apple season to end around late October. Picking will also be more in the back of the rows, there will be more walking to find apples.
Our Pick Your Own Apple trees are nestled on 200 acres of Pick Your Own fruit orchards and fields overlooking the scenic Connecticut River Valley. We have one of the largest apple orchards in Connecticut. It's no wonder why Lyman Orchards was voted Connecticut's Best Pick Your Own Farm and the Nation's Best Apple Orchard for 2025!

If you're looking for a fun way to spend a day in Connecticut, a visit to Lyman Orchards PYO Apple Orchards is the perfect destination for a wholesome, fun, family-friendly getaway! And because we grow so many varieties of fruits, it's worth the trip! The Apple season lasts for 12 weeks (mid August-mid November) and traditionally overlaps the Peach season (mid July-Late September) and the Pear Season (mid August - late September).

Lyman Orchards has 30,000 apple trees spread over 100 sprawling acres. We grow 30 varieties of apples. Some of our early season apples include Ginger Gold, Early Mac, Ruby Red (Free-Red), Paula Red, Empress, and Sunrise. Other varieties include, Gala, Jonamac, McIntosh, Cortland, Honey Crisp, Macoun, Spencer, Liberty, Fuji, Jonagold, Empire, Red Delicious, Golden Delicious, Ida Red, Crispin, Cameo, Rome, Braeburn, Granny Smith, Pink Lady, and Ever Crisp.

We’re picking Apples, Peaches, Pears, Asian Pears, Pumpkins, Squash Flowers, Summer Squash, and Raspberries from 9AM-4:30PM. The supplies are excellent. The Apple varieties are McIntosh, Gala, and Cortland. The Peaches are yellow fleshed and freestone. We are in the last few days of the Peach season so don’t delay. The Pear varieties are Red Bartlett and Bosc, and Shinseiki, Hosui, Twentieth Century, and Niitaka Asian. The Pumpkins are carving.
The Corn Maze is open this afternoon from 1-5:30 PM. The theme of this year’s Maze is 250 Years of the USA. Admission Price for the Maze is $12 for ages 13 and older, $7 for ages 4-12, and free for ages 3 and under. $1 of every ticket sold is donated to the American Cancer Society, and $.50 of every ticket sold is donated to the Connecticut Cancer Foundation.

Due to the rain we are delaying opening PYO and the Maze until this afternoon. We’re picking Apples, Peaches, Pears, Asian Pears, Squash Flowers, Summer Squash, and Raspberries from 1-4:30PM. The supplies are excellent for all except Peaches. The Peach supply is very limited and while supplies last—the remaining peaches are at the ends of the rows so there is a bit of walking.
