For the first time in program history, the Lyman Orchards PGA Jr. League 17u All-Star Team has earned a spot at the PGA Jr. League Championship, taking place October 23 - 26, 2025, at Twin Warriors Golf Club in Santa Ana Pueblo, New Mexico.
The Lyman Orchards 17u All-Stars secured their place on the national stage after a strong summer of competition. The team first advanced by winning the CT Section PGA Jr. League tournament hosted at Lyman Orchards Golf Club in July, which qualified them for the Regional Championship at Keney Park Golf Course in Windsor, CT. Competing against eight top teams representing the New England, Connecticut, and Metropolitan PGA Sections, the Lyman Orchards team claimed the Regional Championship title, marking the program's first-ever advancement to Nationals.
The All-Star roster features junior golfers ages 14-17, many of whom have participated in the Lyman Orchards PGA Jr. League program for as many as seven years. Several team members also work at Lyman Orchards as well as privately train under their coach, Alex Cavaliere, who was recently named the 2025 Connecticut Section PGA Teacher of the Year.

"We are incredibly proud of these young athletes and all they have accomplished," said Cavaliere. "Their hard work and commitment to the game have brought them to this moment, and they are ready to represent Lyman Orchards and Connecticut at Nationals."
The PGA Jr. League program at Lyman Orchards is made possible through the leadership of John Dipollina, Director of Golf at the Lyman Orchards Golf Center, who oversees the program each year.
"This is a historic achievement for our program," said Dipollina. "It reflects the strength of our junior golf community here at Lyman Orchards, and we couldn't be more excited to cheer on our team at the Championship."
The 2025 PGA. Jr. League 17u Championship will bring together the top teams from across the country for four days of competition and camaraderie, celebrating the next generation of golfers.
To help make this trip possible, the team is currently raising funds to support travel expenses to New Mexico. If you'd like to contribute, please visit https://www.gofundme.com/f/lyman-17u-pga-jr-league-allstar-team-championship-travel
