285 Years Strong: Lyman Orchards Celebrates with Anniversary Festival

Middlefield, CT — Lyman Orchards, a family-owned farm since 1741, and a popular New England destination, is celebrating a historic milestone with its 285th Anniversary Festival. The two-day event will take place on May 16th and 17th from 10AM-3PM. Guests of all ages are invited to enjoy a weekend of family-friendly fun, live entertainment, and classic farm experiences.

Held at the Apple Barrel Farm Market and surrounding grounds, the festival honors nearly three centuries of farming tradition, community connection, and seasonal celebration. Guests can enjoy a wide range of activities, including live music, local food trucks, horse-drawn wagon rides, a petting farm, and more.

“Reaching 285 years is an incredible milestone for our family and our farm,” said John Lyman, Executive Vice President of Lyman Orchards. “This festival is a way for us to celebrate that legacy with the community that has supported us for generations. It’s all about bringing people together to enjoy the land, the history, and the experience that makes Lyman Orchards so special.”

Visitors can also explore Lyman Orchards’ expansive property, featuring 1,100 acres of scenic farmland, golf courses, orchards, and one of Connecticut’s most beloved farm markets.

Admission to the 285th Anniversary Festival is free. Activities and vendors are subject to change; guests are encouraged to visit the Lyman Orchards website for the latest event details. Special thanks to our Macoun Apple Sponsor, Farm Credit East.
