Fresh-from-the-Farm Raspberries and Blueberries at Lyman Orchards: They're Literally Ripe for the Picking

Who: The beginning of summer is brings fresh, new fruit for Pick Your Own season at Lyman Orchards. Now’s the time to pick nutritious blueberries and delicious raspberries.

What: What’s better than sweet, succulent raspberries on a warm, summer’s day? Picking blueberries and raspberries yourself at one historic Connecticut destination! Pick Your Own season is in full swing for berries.

When: Pick Your Own raspberry and blueberry season has officially begun and is now open daily from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and continues through August.

Where: Lyman Orchards, 32 Reeds Gap Rd, Middlefield, Conn.

Why: Picking your own fruit is a perfect summer activity for the whole family: blueberry and raspberry bushes are healthy snacks and they’re low to the ground: the berries pop off the plants easily and your family can pick hundreds without breaking the bank -- or your back when you haul them home.

For more than 275 years Lyman Orchards has been a hometown, homegrown destination, and the place where memories begin.
